This project will bring together seven countries across Europe in order to learn about culture, languages, and hobbies through joined activities and contests.
The main impact on students, we expect, is to change their mindset so that have a profound conviction in their own ability to achieve what they set out to do. Students will learn that it is worth having ambitious aims and working hard, using their talents and to achieve them. The possibility to compete with others should motivate them. The collaboration on the international level should make them flexible employees/ employers in the future.
Teachers who participate in the Comenius programme acquire new abilities, qualities and new methods. We will realize how important the ability to speak a foreign language is. There are some tasks like the languages or ICT competitions, which will be a challenge for teachers to prepare their children for. As for methodology, teachers will have a unique possibility to share their expertise with foreign teachers during mobilities, individual teacher exchanges or at the conference. As a consequence they should apply the better methods / techniques in their work, which should strengthen their position as a European teacher. The project will have another crucial impact on the students' and teachers’ ICT abilities because they will be familiar with setting up and maintaining the Internet sites (Wiki) and on-line surveys. The main focus in teachers’ work is concentrated on the student-teacher relationship. Meanwhile the project will develop teachers’ abilities to collaborate with their colleagues on the school level and with foreign partners on the European level.
The impact on schools needs to be emphasized. We expect the habits of cross-curricular competitions long lasting in the school-life. Except for the Romanian school, all others are situated far from the national centres. The collaboration on the European level should increase the prestige of the schools in their local community. It should be seen as an institution which takes care of all children and uses modern methods and equipment; in addition the school which can collaborate on the European level, but at the same time can collaborate with local cultural institutions. Mass media will be invited to accompany all mobilities whereas parents will be engaged as the partners responsible for the success of our project. (~2400)
